( Brand: Seiko ), ( Model: SKX013 ), ( Type Of Movement: Mechanical ), ( Country/region Of Manufacture: Unknown )
The SKX013 Seiko watch is a classic timepiece known for its durability, reliability, and timeless design. This particular model features a stainless steel case and band, ensuring a long-lasting and robust construction. The dial is protected by a hardlex crystal glass, providing scratch resistance and maintaining the watch's pristine appearance.
The heart of this Seiko watch is its movement, and the SKX013 comes equipped with two options: the 7S26 or the NH36A. Both are high-quality automatic movements, capable of self-winding and providing an accurate timekeeping experience. The 7S26 movement is a popular choice for Seiko watches, known for its reliability and longevity. The NH36A, on the other hand, is an upgrade, offering a power reserve of approximately 41 hours and improved accuracy.
However, even these robust movements can require repair from time to time. Pros of buying a Seiko SKX013 watch with 7S26 or NH36A movement repair:1. Cost-effective: Repairing your existing watch is typically more affordable than buying a new one, especially if the watch is in good condition overall.
2. Sentimental value: If the watch has sentimental value, repairing it can help preserve that sentiment without the added cost of buying a new one.
3. Quality: Seiko watches are known for their quality, and the 7S26 and NH36A movements are reliable and durable.
4. Customization: If the watch is in good condition, but you want to change the dial or strap, repairing it allows you to customize it to your preferences.
Cons of buying a Seiko SKX013 watch with 7S26 or NH36A movement repair:1. Time: Repairing a watch can take time, and you may not have the watch back in your hands for several weeks.
2. Risk of damage: If the watch is sent to an unqualified repair shop, there is a risk of further damage to the watch.
3. Parts availability: Replacement parts for Seiko watches are widely available, but if the repair shop cannot find the necessary part, it could delay the repair.
4. Cost: While repairing a watch can be more affordable than buying a new one, if the repair costs exceed the value of the watch, it may be more cost-effective to buy a new one.
Conclusion: If you value the sentimental value of your Seiko SKX013 watch and it is in good condition, repairing it with a 7S26 or NH36A movement can be a cost-effective and satisfying option. However, it's essential to choose a reputable repair shop and be aware of the potential risks and costs involved in the repair process. If the watch is not in good condition or the repair costs are significantly higher than the value of the watch, it may be more practical to buy a new one.
Recommendation: If you decide to repair your Seiko SKX013 watch, I recommend researching local repair shops and reading reviews to find a reputable shop. Ask for a detailed estimate of the repair costs and parts required, and make sure to communicate your expectations and budget to the repair shop. It's also a good idea to back up any important data or information stored on the watch, such as calendars or settings, before sending it off for repair.
The plastic enclosure for 7S26 is also apparently broken. So here I am attempting to recoup some of his losses. A lot of the parts are in good condition but two movements do not work and need to be repaired.
Nh36 has something stuck where the crown is supposed to go and doesn't seem hold power. Parts that are like-new:-chapter ring-bezel spring-all the gaskets-new replacement SKX013 crown and stem for nh36 movement in good condition: hurdles crystal minor scuff on beveled edge old seems very wobbly the hands seconds minute perfect condition, hour hand has a slight bend one side poor condition: case is scuffed up with marks where would be-cashback from being worn bracelet-both movements do not function properly pretty dirty. I am selling these as a bundle cause parts individually would be nightmare for me. 7S26 has a broken date wheel gear as well scratches all over it, however, it runs just fine, the cant be set.
My friend butchered an SKX013 in attempt to mod it.
