This is a higher quality version of this not so often seen movement, and it can be expected to run fine after servicing. Rather than four wheels in the gear train, this movement has six. The old copper dial has lost a significant amount of its black coloring, but still has a very interesting patina look to it.
It also has one of the earliest direct drive sweep seconds hand. There is a missing bridge screw in the barrel bridge, and a missing dial screw.
Still, Ogival clearly requested some of the nicer features from Adolf child with what appears to be a gold balance and good shock mounting. This Ogival watch head is being sold for parts or restoration. The movement as is one of the most interesting a child movements from the 1940's. When the spring is wound tight, the watch will run in spurts, for unknown periods, but then the train stops driving.
The crystal is near perfect. The case is serviceable. This watch head runs solidly and keeps excellent time when in the later stages of the mainspring's reserve.
