We replaced the battery with a brand new Maxwell to verify it is working. It is not stainless steel and shows pitting throughout from sweat on my wrist. The band must be replaced. The band on this watch was compromised when it manufactured.

The stainless bookplate reads 'raymond Weil water resistant 9182' however, watch itself is in perfect working condition and has a new battery. This is proved because the bookplate of watch stainless steel, and despite some small scratches also in very good condition.
